The product description states the book is for 6 to 14 year olds. This is a misleading label. The book does not go beyond one-syllable words. It is focused on beginning reading skills. The description says the book covers levels 1 to 4, but does not mention that there are actually 12 levels. I have been unable to locate books that cover levels 5-12, though. I work with 3rd-5th graders who need reading intervention and was hopeful that this book would provide some daily phonics routines that would benefit them. That's not what this book is. I am returning the book and will keep looking for something that better targets intermediate grade readers who struggle with orthographic mapping. This book is great for use after or in addition with ”An Orton-Gillingham Reading and Spelling Program Alphabet and Digraph lesson plan”. This book mainly focuses on blending letter sounds and reading sentences.
